Kay Monroe

Custodian

Since joining the staff at First Presbyterian Church in May 2006, Kay Monroe has faithfully served the church and its congregation with a heart for hospitality and care. Kay not only maintains the church campus but also supports members of the church family in countless ways both on and off campus. For Kay, this role is more than a job, it’s a calling to care for and serve God’s people.

Kay graduated from Winthrop University with a degree in Health and Physical Education. Prior to her role at First Presbyterian, Kay spent 29 years in education as a teacher and coach, including 27 years at Laurens High School. After retiring from education, she continued serving the community through the YMCA before eventually joining First Presbyterian Church.

In her free time, Kay enjoys attending productions at Mill Town Players Theater, bowling, playing pickleball, traveling to Maine each year, and walking regularly with a group of church friends—a tradition that has continued for more than 20 years.

Guided by Psalm 139:23–24, Kay strives to live each day with faith, humility, and a desire to follow Christ.
