A Message
from Our Pastor

For nearly 190 years, people have gathered at First Pres Laurens seeking faith, hope, and community. Generations have been baptized here, friendships have been formed, and families have grown in faith together. We are deeply grateful for that legacy.

Today we are embracing a new season—honoring our past while stepping forward with hope. Our prayer is that our church continues to grow as a welcoming community where faith deepens across generations and where the love of Christ is lived out in everyday life.

What to Expect

We’d love for you and your family to join us for worship for 10am worship and 11am donuts, no Sunday school during our summer schedule (Labor Day – Memorial Day).

Worship

Our service is about an hour long and offers a meaningful blend of tradition and relevance. Expect both familiar hymns and contemporary music styles, heartfelt prayers, scripture readings, and a message designed to connect your faith to real life today. We make it easy to follow along—even if you’re new to Presbyterian worship—by including everything you need right in the bulletin.

Adult Small Groups and Bible Study

At First Pres Laurens, our adult ministries provide a variety of ways to deepen your faith and build lasting friendships. Our adult small groups offer intentional Bible study, using discussion and study guides to connect scripture with our daily lives. Whether you join a class for scholarly commentary (like the Covenant Class), discuss video-led content (like the Commitment Class), or apply Bible teachings to real life (like the TnT Class), you will find a welcoming, supportive community dedicated to growing together in Christ

Children

Children are a cherished part of our community. We provide a safe, loving nursery for our littlest members (infants through age five), and a special Children’s Message is included during the service. Our church is family-friendly, so please, don’t worry about the noise or the wiggles—we truly are delighted to have your whole family here.

Attire

Whether you’re comfortable in jeans or your Sunday best, we invite you to come just as you are. Bring your questions, your hopes, and your curiosity. You’ll find a welcoming community here that is excited to meet new families, loves God, and genuinely cares for one another.
